The next step in my journey.Posted: August 13, 2017 Filed under: Certification, Personal, R Leave a comment
I have not been updating my blog for a while. It looks like January 1st 2015 was my last post. However, I will leave that to another post to talk about that.
This post will discuss my recent journey and next step in which I’m looking to share and it will be useful to others such as yourself.
I am currently studding for the MCSE: Data Management and Analytics certification. I have earned the MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development certification and will be using Exam 70-773 Analyzing Big Data with Microsoft R as my third exam to earn my MCSE.
Looking back at 2014Posted: January 1, 2015 Filed under: Personal Leave a comment
As my blog has shown I haven’t been able to blog a lot last year. Even though I hadn’t blogged there has been a lot that happened for me last year. The year started as I became the Vice President of the Akron Canton Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Soon it was February and I helped with a lot of the behind the scene activities (stuffing bags, moving chairs, setting up rooms..) for the Cleveland SQL Saturday. A few months later I went to my fist Information Security conference, B-Sides Columbus. I was able to present again at the Rochester NY SQL Saturday. Rochester was amazing again. However, my T-SQL Basics presentation didn’t go as well as I wanted. I do want to thank everyone for the great feedback.
Reflecting on 2013Posted: January 1, 2014 Filed under: Civic Hacking, Personal, Speaking, SQLSaturday Leave a comment
I personally find it beneficial to take a moment this time of year to reflect on the previous year. It gives me a chance to see where I have been and make adjustments to keep on track for the next year.
Thanksgiving 2013Posted: November 28, 2013 Filed under: Personal Leave a comment
It is Thanksgiving Day today. Here at the Ramsey household it is a day of reflection of what we are thankful for. My wife’s grandmother started a tradition where we each go around the table and say what we are thankful for.
The Wheels of GovernmentPosted: October 17, 2013 Filed under: Personal Leave a comment
Today I had the chance to see the Ohio state government in action. I sat in the gallery for the Policy and Legislative Oversight Committee for 2nd Hearing, All Testimony Political Parties for S.B. 193. This bill originally started in the Ohio Senate moved rather quickly with a vote of 22 for and 11 against on October 8th 2013. The purpose behind the bill is resolve a conflict in the current Revised Code that has been held unconstitutional by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
